Frustration All Around. Shops seeing major shortage of automotive parts.
We all know the pandemic has led to many unprecedented things. While good news seems to be in the future and illnesses are majorly decreasing, automotive parts are very limited. Production was slowed drastically the past year and natural disasters have also caused supply issues.
With parts on backorder, it is taking longer to fix a vehicle than a year ago. People have keeping their used vehicles longer now too. There are chip shortages that are causing new vehicles to not hit the lot very quickly. More are opting to fix their used vehicle until supply and demand are more equal again.
Engines are greatly affected as well. Timeline for most engines right now is 2-4 weeks. Drivers are definitely feeling the effect of less supply but high demand for items.
